The AIA Group has established “AIA Scholarships” since 2020 to provide financial support for 100 undergraduate students (the “scholars”) across universities in Hong Kong. The third cohort of scholars includes 13 HKUST students who were selected to receive the prestigious honour based on their track records of academic performance and community service, as well as their need for financial support to pursue higher education in Hong Kong. Scholars will each receive an award of HK$50,000 each year throughout their undergraduate studies.
The AIA Scholarships 2022/23 Awards Ceremony was successfully held on September 11, 2023 (Monday) and attended by Mr. Edmund Tse, AIA Group Board Chairman and Director of AIA Foundation; Mr. Jacky CHAN, AIA Regional Chief Executive, Group Chief Distribution Officer and Co-chairman, AIA Scholarships Committee; Mr. Stuart SPENCER, AIA Group Chief Marketing Officer and Co-chairman, AIA Scholarships Committee; and Mr. Alger FUNG, Chief Executive Officer, AIA Hong Kong & Macau; Director of AIA Foundation. In addition to financial support, the AIA Foundation will engage the scholars throughout their academic journeys, also providing career planning workshops, dialogues with AIA senior leaders, and community service opportunities to the scholars to further expand their horizons.
