At his welcoming speech, Mr. Zhang Jun expressed that the implementation of the CCB (Asia) scholarship program is based on its shared goal with HKUST in nurturing talents, “the scholarship aims to guide and inspire young students to further explore their academic potential, enhance their financial insights, strengthen their sense of belonging to their country, and cultivate more outstanding financial talents for Hong Kong. As we embark on this initial collaboration with the University, we also look forward to establishing a long-term strategic partnership, continuously expanding and deepening our cooperation, focusing on exploring issues such as green finance, financial technology, and inclusive finance, and working together to promote the sustainable development of Hong Kong society.”

Professor Wang expressed his gratitude to CCB (Asia) for the support, "The University is committed to creating an environment that allows students to unleash their full potential, while encouraging innovation and lifelong learning to contribute to the world. We are pleased to collaborate with CCB (Asia) to support talent development through the establishment of the scholarship program. We look forward to continuing our partnership to create more opportunities for our students in the future.”

This is the first time that CCB (Asia) has established a scholarship program and collaborated with HKUST, aiming to establish a reserve of financial elites for Hong Kong society and enhance Hong Kong's long-term competitiveness as an international financial center. The scholarship program incorporates three major themes as evaluation criteria – financial technology, green finance, and inclusive finance, aspiring students to pursue a career in financial banking industry, cultivate more outstanding financial talents, and lay a solid foundation for the future development of the industry.
