The HKUST-Sino ASEAN Exchange Program has been sponsored by the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation and the Hong Kong ASEAN Foundation since 2023. Students spent their summer at universities in Indonesia and Vietnam, where they learned about the countries and the development of the ASEAN region, as well as its culture and language. This experience also fostered meaningful friendships with local students, which had a significant impact.

At the cocktail reception at The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel Hong Kong on September 13, Students had a chance to meet with the movie makers, VIPs and Consulate Generals from the 10 ASEAN Counties.  Among them, Mr Daryl Ng, Chairman of Hong Kong ASEAN Foundation and Deputy Chairman of Sino Group, made a moment to have a dialogue with HKUST students and listened to their learning experience through the Exchange Program.  Dr Ng encouraged students to enjoy their study at HKUST and to explore opportunities to contribute to the society after graduation.  Many students expressed that the exchange program is an eye-opening experience for them. They are grateful for the sponsorship by the Foundation.  

The same group of students join the finale event of the Film Festival at Tai Kwun on September 27, a screening of the Thai movie "Wonderland" . During the post-event exchange session, students actively shared their reflections on the film by asking meaningful questions to the filmmakers.
