The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is delighted to congratulate 13 outstanding undergraduate students who have been selected as recipients of the AIA Scholarships 2026, recognising their exceptional academic achievements, commitment to community service, and leadership potential.

Established through a US$100 million commitment made by AIA in 2020, the AIA Scholarships support 100 exceptional undergraduate students from 10 local universities in Hong Kong each year. Each scholar receives an annual scholarship of HK$50,000 throughout their undergraduate studies, helping them pursue their academic aspirations while encouraging them to make meaningful contributions to society.

The AIA Scholarships Ceremony 2026 was held on 6 October 2026, bringing together scholarship recipients and their parents, university representatives, and guests to celebrate the achievements of the sixth cohort of AIA Scholars. Representing HKUST at the ceremony was Ms. Rose Tan, Head (Scholarships & Financial Aid), who joined representatives from the other participating universities in congratulating the awardees on this significant milestone.

At the ceremony, Mr. Jacky Chan, AIA Regional Chief Executive and Group Chief Distribution Officer and Co-chairman of the AIA Scholarships Committee and Mr. Stuart A. Spencer, AIA Group Chief Marketing Officer and Co-chairman of the AIA Scholarships Committee welcomed all AIA Scholars and shared their belief that empowering young people is key to building a healthier, more resilient and sustainable future. Following the session, Mr. Alger Fung, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Hong Kong & Macau and Director of AIA Foundation, joined Mr. Ryan Choi, Hong Kong foil fencer, and AIA Scholar representatives for a dialogue on resilience and overcoming challenges, inspiring students to pursue their aspirations, realise their potential and contribute positively to society.

HKUST extends its heartfelt appreciation to AIA Foundation for its continued support of higher education and youth development. Through this generous scholarship programme, students are empowered to realise their potential, broaden their horizons, and develop into socially responsible leaders who will contribute to a more sustainable future.
