CMA General Committee members posted with students outside the Center for Engineering Education Innovation.
With a view to keeping abreast of the development in higher education and youth work, 22 General Committee members from the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (CMA) visited the University on 4 June 2015. The delegation was led by President Dr Eddy S H Li, five Vice Presidents (namely Dr. Tsui Ping Kwong, Mr. Johnny Yeung, Mr. Marvin Hsu, Mr. Ng Ching Wun and Dr. Tony Tai), and Chairman of its Education Standing Committee Dr. Lo Yuk Lam. They visited the teaching facilities and exchanged views with faculty members and students at the Center for Engineering Education Innovation.
The group was greeted by HKUST President Prof Tony F Chan, who thanked CMA for their great work for Hong Kong in the past 81 years and wished it would continue to grow from strength to strength. Vice President for Institutional Advancement Dr Eden Woon also looked forward to a greater partnership with CMA, such as being a co-organizer of CMA’s summer program in 2015 for senior secondary school students to enjoy a taste of university life at HKUST so as to aspire our youth to embrace future challenges.
Dr Eddy Li appreciated the splendid achievements of HKUST in only 24 years and encouraged our students to achieve more for the development of science and technology in Hong Kong with creativity.
CMA is a strong supporter of the university, providing scholarships to students and also sponsored a research project in carbon audit and air quality monitoring.
